Name of service: Acting Up! Arts Nature of service provided: Established in 2008, Acting Up! creates opportunities for children aged 0-6, along with their families and friends or with their school or preschool, to engage with and explore art. We produce and present work for and about very young children, from the ages of zero to six years old. Through our work with leading Irish and international early years artists children can enjoy performances in any local space, view engaging exhibitions or participate in creative workshops with their carers and educators. Acting Up! also curates specific professional development opportunities for teachers and artists. Acting Up! is committed to a child-centred approach. Acting Up! provides its services to and for young children. It is central to the philosophy of Acting Up! that children are unconditionally respected and kept safe from harm while availing of our services. Principles to safeguard children from harm: Below are Acting Up's principles and procedures which should be observed to ensure, as far as possible, that a child is safe from harm while availing of our services.
All Acting Up! team members are Garda vetted.
All Acting Up! team members have undertaken Tusla online Child Protection Training – Children First E-Learning.
All child protection or welfare concerns will be reported to Tusla/Gardaí in a timely manner.
Children are always accompanied by a parent/guardian/educator, while engaging with the Acting Up! team.
A child in need of personal support because of illness, physical needs or any form of distress, shall be referred in the first place to his/her parent/guardian or teacher.
